Ottawa, Ontario — Jump Canada has named Ian Millar the CAVALOR ‘Athlete of the Month’ for June.

A nine-time Olympian, Millar of Perth, ON, had an impressive string of victories during the summer tournaments held at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, AB.

During the ‘National’ Tournament, Millar won the $200,000 CN Reliability Grand Prix on June 13 with his 2008 Olympic Silver Medal partner In Style, a 14-year-old Holsteiner gelding owned by Susan Grange.  The pair’s winning streak began earlier in the week when they won the $25,000 ATB Financial Cup.

During the following week’s ‘Continental’ Tournament, Millar and In Style won the $25,000 Devon Cup.  Millar also scored victory in the $25,000 West Jet Cup held during the ‘Canada One’ Tournament riding his newest grand prix mount, Dryden, an eight-year-old Belgian Warmblood stallion also owned by Grange.

“My horses were fantastic at Spruce Meadows, and this bodes well for what’s to come for the rest of the summer,” said Millar, 62.

As the CAVALOR ‘Athlete of the Month’ for June, Millar receives a gift certificate from title sponsor CAVALOR Inc.
