Heavy Sweat

A horse in work can lose from between five and twenty five liters of sweat per day, depending on a number of factors such as temperament, duration and intensity of exercise and temperature and humidity.

Heavy Sweat is designed to match the proportion of electrolytes lost in sweat following exertion. It is important to note that sweat evaporates quickly in breezy, non-humid conditions. A horse in work may loose a lot of sweat even though sweat may not be seen running down the neck. The amount of Heavy Sweat used should be calculated by the intensity of the work done rather than the amount of sweat visible to the naked eye.

Nature has provided horses a forage diet and in the wild, they will average up to 30 miles a day walking and grazing along the way. In this vast expanse of land, they will consume many different kinds of forage including not only legumes and grasses but vegetables, fruits, flowers and herbs.

As the happy owner of three opinionated mares, I wasn’t satisfied with the horse treats on the market. The typical treats were merely common feed with molasses thrown in – too boring for the horses to have much interest in or too big and chewy which on occasion caused a coughing and choking episode.

That is why I decided to do some serious research regarding what horses could eat, would be a part of a healthy equine diet and find irresistible at the same time. After completing several courses in equine nutrition, I combined my passion for horses and baking with a knowledge of what horses naturally enjoy eating.

Bea’s Horse Treats are the product of my passions. The horse cookies are currently available in three delicious flavors: Molasses Oatmeal Raisin, Peppermint Cornmeal and Pumpkin Spice. We have 3lb, 5lb, 7lb, and 14lb container sizes to choose from.

Here at FarmVet, we’ve recently added some NEW products that we think are really great. After learning more about these products we’ve found that lots of other people like them too. Here are a few of our newest products…

Pro-Kold Ice Wraps

Allows ice treatment – without exposing hoof to water. Encapsulated, refreezable water solution eliminates cracked hooves and fungus infections resulting from prolonged water contact; also reduces stall and stable cleanup normally resulting from use of ice or water.

Multiple uses – simple design fits any leg position.

Convenient – Unit construction with straps attached makes installation simple and reduces labor requirements usually involved with ice or cold water therapy.

Affordable – Wraps can be purchased individually.

Durable – Nylon casing and industrial grade polymers ensure long life with repeated usage – wrap can be hosed off or washed and air dried.

Provides mobility – Panel design allows horse to be mobile while receiving ice treatment. Ice treatment can be administered for up to 2 hours without personnel standing by.

Delivers Uniform Cold – Ice Pillows stay in place while thawing instead of slipping to bottom of the wrap as crushed ice does.

Inserts can be removed and frozen separately.

Martha Josey – World Champion Barrel Horse Rider

“One of the most important lessons I have learned in my barrel racing career is that the actual barrel race is won prior to the timer ever starting. The care, conditioning and preparation that goes into getting your horse “Rodeo or Horse Show Ready,” will determine how fast your horse shuts off the clock.

I believe that a fast and effective coolant system for your horse’s legs is essential in making a healthy long-life for your horse and winning the race. Pro-Kold Equine Wraps, are by far, the fastest, most effective, direct system to use when your horse needs any type of icing or swelling control.

I use these products after each race for proper leg treatment on all the horses I run. I also use their additional coolant products for preventative measures prior to running or if I notice any type of swelling in specific areas.

The care of my horse is just that, if not more, important as making a winning run. To make sure they get the Best, I use Pro-Kold. There is no better product on the market.”

Simichrome Polish

Simichrome’s unique, finely mixed formula produces a rich, brilliant shine on any uncoated, non-ferrous, metal surface including, brass, gold, silver, aluminum, magnesium, pewter, chrome, sterling, copper and stainless steel.

Simichrome does a beautiful job of removing surface rust from chrome, polishing aluminum until it looks like new, even sprucing up delicate, heirloom family silver. And it won’t leave scratches or abrasive marks. In as little as 30 seconds, you can watch a small, faded item goes from dull, oxidized metal to a having a perfect mirror finish.

In addition to restoring the original luster, Simichrome also leaves an invisible, protective coating to prevent further tarnishing and help keep the shine much longer. A solid favorite for home, industry, auto, motorcycle and antique users, Simichrome is the fastest, most effective metal polishing and cleaning agent in the industry today.

S. Groff (San Antonio, Texas)

“We just bought an older home that had a lot of neat old brass hinges and door handles in need of some TLC. After a good scrubbing we used Simichrome to polish them up and they look fantastic, like they must have looked when they were installed 50 years ago. Simichrome gave all the hardware a beautiful shine and left no nasty film. It’s been several months since we applied it and our hardware still looks great. We highly approve of this product and will definitely use it again.”

Urad Polish

“I started out trying URAD in black, and was so pleased I got it in brown, and now I “need” it in clear. Used this on my 20 year old leather couch and it looks teriffic.”

I have been giving to my horse for 30 days and have noticed improvement. Originally purchased mushroom matrix for sarcoid on my Arabian mare based on a blog I read. Not only is her sarcoid showing signs of calming but her allergy to the no seeums has calmed too. I can’t wait to see what the next 3 months look like.

Reviewer: Pia Johansson from Hiawassee, GA United States

I love your products, my mare 25 yr old quarter horse was diagnosed with either a heart tumor or lymphoma, she has been on a holistic lymphatic drainage product and ECP Matrix for 6 mos. now, she is bucking and running & we thought she was going to pass away. My veterinarian, Dr Brennen, recommended your product to me. She said that ECP Matrix will boost your horse’s immune system, she uses this product instead of certain vaccines. I have a Clydesdale farm in GA. 2 summers ago, I had a young filly Clydesdale that acquired some growths in her ears (from flies), they look like broccoli sprouts, very hard & painful. I started her on ECP and 3 mos. later they literally fell out. This past summer this happened to 2 of my young Clydesdales, Hoss & Lil Joe, I started them on ECP & 4 mos. later their ears were clean. I rescued these 2 horses, their immune system was in bad shape & they were malnourished. They are almost 18 hands & not yet 3 yrs. old. Your product definitely works!
